Where did you grow up?
Why did you choose a career in medicine?
My father, and grandfather; who were not docs, told me I had to become one.
What is your favorite part about being a physician and why?
Seeing patients of all ages and walks as part of a family and our community. It is joy to walk with someone in all parts of their health
What is the best piece of advice someone has given you?
“If you listen to a patient long enough, they will tell you what is wrong with them”
What advice would you give to new MSV members?
We are the legacy and most respected force for Medicine in VA
If you could interview one person (dead or alive) who would it be and why?
This is a tough one. So many leaders come to mind. Thomas Jefferson is the top pick. It would be great to have him share on where our country and society need to change.
Doing something that helps others. A nap is nice on occasion too.
