Interviewer

How long have you been a an MSV member and why did you join?

Lee Ouyang, MD

I joined MSV during my first year of medical school in 2013. I joined because my med school colleagues said it would be a fun time and it has been a fun and also rewarding time as well.

Recommend one book you think all physicians and PAs should read?

Lee Ouyang, MD

Anything but a textbook, just because a lot of times in school we're just really driven to just read, read for that next test, to learn, to go pass that test. But getting outside of that and being able to broaden your horizons and learn about, talk about something other than medicine, I think will really help you connect with people in the exam room so that you really can help them the best you can.

Interviewer

If you could give future physicians and PAs one piece of advice, what would it be?

Lee Ouyang, MD

To kind of keep an open eye, open mind, and to just learn and absorb as much as you can because you never know when that information is going to help you or take you somewhere in connecting with a patient and being able to talk about anything with them and getting to know them.
